would upgrading my cpu from amd64 3500+ single core to any 939socket dual core matter on this motherboard?

i bought a gforce 8800gt about 4 months ago, and i was thinking about upgrading my cpu from an AMD64 3500+ 2.2ghz single core processor to a dual core (any that i can find on ebay, suggestions welcome), but i didnt know if my motherboard would bottleneck
The only dual core cpus you can use with that board are the
Athalon 64 X 2 cpus. If you go this route make sure you get a cpu that exeeds the 2.2 ghz on each core so you will have a viable upgrade for both single threaded and multithreaded processes.
